We had a very nice visit to this hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is close to 95 and the town of Walterboro has many restaurants. There is a continental breakfast 6am-9 . There were definitely small dogs on the premises but it did not seem to affect the cleanliness or the peace and quiet.

Review of El Pueblo

This restaurant had many choices for shrimp dishes. That made it an excellent choice for a Friday during Lent. My husband had the El Pueblo special and I don’t remember the name of my dish but it had shrimp and scallops in a sauce with rice lettuce and pico de gallo. Everything was delicious. Service was less attentive but not terrible.

Review of Cook Out

My son and I stopped at Cook Out for lunch. We walked up to the window and there was a little bit of a line. It was moving slowly and the drive-thru was very busy. It took about 10 minutes for us to get up to the window and place our order. Then it took 40 minutes to receive our food; that is far too long of a wait for a fast food order.
The staff were friendly and the food was good. They got our order right, but it was a long wait. This review is different than the last time I visited this restaurant last year. I gave them 2 stars for the food quality and friendliness. However, I withheld the other 3 stars because the wait was too long.

We checked into our room to find that we did not have any heat. The unit did not work at all (no power to it even though it was plugged in). The bed only had a top sheet and a very, very thin bed spread. The room was worn looking and not all that clean. At our request, someone was sent to check on the heat. The gentleman was very nice and he attempted to switch out the unit. We had been traveling all day and had our dog with us. Our patience was wearing thin. After about an hour and a half we requested to be moved to another room (big mistake) or receive a refund. We should've demanded a refund. The room we were moved to was a bit nicer overall but reeked of cigarette smoke!! It was as if it was coming through the vent in the bathroom. We were too exhausted by this point to do anything else. When you tried to turn on the faucet at the bathroom sink you had to hold the base down as it wasn't affixed tightly. The shower knobs fell off as well when you turned them on/off. The hallways/stair areas were unkept and there were obviously long-term residents living there. The maintenance guy told us that someone had lived in the first room we had for a year with a dog and would not let anyone from the hotel inspect the room. While we were waiting to see if the guy could fix our heat in the first room, someone's dog was barking constantly. We got out of here as soon as we could the next morning! Trust me, you DO NOT want to stay at this motel!!! We've stayed at a Baymont by Wyndham in Eden, NC and it was awesome! Not this one ... it is a nightmare!!

Worth a visit

Newer restaurants in Walterboro, SC. Please don’t miss dining here.

We went on “Wing” night . The wings were plump, tasty and cooked perfectly. We added on French fries. The side salad was made with red leaf lettuce, cucumber, tomato and red onions. Cold and crunchy and a nice break from the iceberg served everywhere else in town. Finished up with perfect crème brûlée. All if the ingredients were fresh and properly prepared.

The restaurant is just off I 95 so it would make a great stop for dinner if traveling thru.

Our server Devon was helpful explaining the menu to us and frequently checked in..but not so much to be annoying.

I can see this becoming our go to spot.

Only suggestion is to dim the light a little and add table cloths (because I like them).

Review of Econo Lodge

We loved our stay. Convenient location right off the interstate, and the price was amazing. $55 for clean room with two comfortable queen beds. Plenty of space in the room. Bathroom wasn’t updated (other than flooring) but the rest of the room was. There was nothing wrong with the bathroom just the tub was older and peeling a little. Breakfast was small but worked. Waffles, fruit, cereal, bread, coffee, and juice.

I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through. We will surely stop if we are ever in the area again!

Nice people at check-in; clean room; pet-friendly; easy on-off Rt 95; good breakfast. Not too many restaurants in the area but Cracker Barrel is across the parking lot. Overall, a very good experience if you're looking for a hotel near the highway.

Review of Olde House Cafe

Great country cooking in a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing pretentious here. Just food like your grandma used to cook (if you are already of that age yourself). If you’re looking for fancy or modern, this isn’t your place.

Review of Econo Lodge

I highly recommend staying at this place. It is right off I95, very clean, comfy beds, and friendly staff. The building itself is older but you can tell the management cares about making your stay a good one. The breakfast was just ok, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you are really hungry!

Review of Cracker Barrel

No surprises here! Slow indifferent service bringing their version of a "hot breakfast" at room temperature at best, runny eggs, limp toast, and some version of breakfast potatoes. Won't be back!

Review of Econo Lodge

This small Econolodge Hotel never fails to impress. Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced lodging!! On our stay months end January I left my cell phone there but did not discover this until the next day. I later found that manager Ashvin Patel had gone beyond expectations to inform me. He left messages at my home and then called his friend in our hometown to drive to my address to see if someone was there. I did retrieve my phone on our return and thanked him profusely. The service from this establishment whether it be personnel, rooms, or service is exceptional. Thank you!!

They only have takeout. We left as we were hoping to eat in. Did not want to eat in car.
They were somewhat busy but it looked to be slow to get food.

Review of McDonald’s

Long wait, employees running around accomplishing nothing. Do not know how you could be so confused.
Go somewhere else.
Food was ok once we received it.

We stayed in a smoking, pet friendly room, so are expectations were not very high. We've stayed in that room at least eight times over the years. There were several small things wrong with the room that could be fixed, but would require substantial investment. The carpet is due for replacement. Clean, but worn in spots. Crack in the sink. Not leaking nor affecting its functioning, but unattractive. Furniture starting to show wear. But for under $99.00 a night, it was acceptable. Most stays the breakfast we better than average. We're staying there on the way home.

Last.minute.stay due.to traffic on my commute and it.was.a last minute reservation. Place needs tlc, pet friendly I think. Room not too clean. Dirty mirror as I walked in the room, paint peeling off the door as I closed it. Bathroom very small with sink outside of it. Dirty carpet! Place needs alot of TLC to keep up with other options to stay for the night.as you travel the East coast

This was such a lovely surprise. I had driven by almost weekly for at least 2 years. I found some extra time that day and decided to stop in.
The shop is beautiful and well organized. The crafts are varied and unique.
The prices were reasonable and affordable, bargains considering the quality!

We were looking to split up our trip to Florida from NY and found the perfect place in this Best Western in Walterboro. After driving 13 hours, it offered a comfy, decent sized room with a good shower and a great bed. Dining options were many and nearby, some within walking distance. We will be back!
