My favorite destination in Alicante region. Such breathtaking views that it is hard to put words on them, so just go see it for yourself!

Beautiful little fortified village up in the mountains, with stunning views down to an azure blue lake. Lots of interesting little shops selling anything from jewellery to ice cream. Also had some great Calamari from the first restaurant on the left as you go into the village.
Be warned its not really for the unfit, infirm or the very elderly....

We drove up there with a rental car from Alicante. It was pleasant because in the end of april it is not yet crowded by tourists. Had nice weather and enjoyed the stunning views. Not that much to do there and the village is quite small but certainly worth a visit and a couple of hours.
Going up to guadalest valley by bus is 100% possible and feasible.
Originally we planned to drive up to the valley but had to go up solely by bus as we were unable to book a car last minute and it did turn out to be a success!
Bus number 16 leaves Alicante bus terminal at 10:15 hours. Best bet...

We arrived at the castle gates at 6.50pm, and had the place to ourselves. the lovely house which gets you to the castle closes at 7.00pm but they don't mind what time you leave, so we had time to linger and enjoy the amazing views.
We found out about this place on Trip Advisor (so thank you reviewers). Guadlest itself is a really lovely little village, a bit of a tourist honeypot, so it can get busy, but well worth the visit. Pay 3Euros to go into the chateau and castle, well worth the small amount of funds. Some really good photographs taken, although it...

Beautiful view, well worth the climb.Lots of small shops to look in and souvenirs to buy.Can be very busy in the Summer so avoid if possible.Good for a cloudy day.
This is a lovely place to visit, the views are spectacular. There is also a lake boat trip which is relaxing. The little streets and shops with many different items for sale. Are really great. Well worth a visit
We did a day excursion here, with many friends, beautifull peacefull, lovely little village up on the mountain with beautifull view, little narrow streets with shops and restaurants. Unfortunately we only stayed there for about 2and half hours, as our bus driver couldnt stay longer, loved loved it. Would recommend it to everyone.
