Ride: - With 1 hour frequency from Interlaken to Brienz & return. Takes about an hour on journey, with stops at some lesser known beautiful lake side villages. I would recommend completing a loop, Interlaken to Brienz via train (a scenic rail ride that’s parallel with wildly turning road on lakeside) and return via boat. One can optionally stop over... The boats take around 4 hours to do the round trip from Interlaken. You can get off and on at your leisure. they have a bar and a snack food restaurant on board which are reasonably priced. Pretty views, calm water, gentle meandering in an alpine valley.

Took a very relaxing boat ride to Brienz from Interlaken OST and then caught the train back. The colour of the water, surrounding scenery and sheer tranquillity is just breathtaking. I took a couple of boat tours when I was in Switzerland. With a half-fare card there wasn't too much difference in price to go first class so it's definitely... More

Went on a sunny albeit a bit cloudy day. The cruise was an hour from interlaken ost. Has a bar if you needed cold / warm food or drinks. Has WC too. The reason I say this is because you hv to pay .50 franc for toilet at some places such as the train station at brienz & Thun(the town... More

Lake Brienz was absolutely beautiful, its turquoise colour an unrivalled shade of purity and many visitors, like us, sat along the park benches just staring into the waters for a long time, finding our own peace and calm. There were designated cycling and pedestrian paths along the parameters of the lake and signages were clear in directing you to your... More

Lake Brienz is really beautiful - we thought it was the best Swiss lake that we visited. The views were stunning all along the north side of the lake. Every way we looked there was a superb view of snow capped mountains and the glistening lake itself. Perfect when the sun is shining, as it was for most of the... More

This is a wonderful lake; especially the green-blue colour is unique. If possible take a tour with a steam boat. Doubtlessly one of the highlights at Bernese Oberland.

We caught the Steamer from Brienz down to Interlaken. Having been on the lake many times it was just as good as the first time I went on in the 1960's. The views of the Geissbach Falls are wonderful. It was lovely to just see the train going down the lake half way up the embankment. The stop at the... More
