My boyfriend and I stayed at one of the Shipek cottages by the river. It was by far the most breathtaking weekend of our lives. The amount of whales we saw on the zodiac boat was simply incredible, and our cottage could not have been more perfectly placed by the water. We continued to see dolphins and whales occasionally pass... More

We can see whales just in front of our lodge... or condo. It worths the price. No traffic sound, no noise except birds, whales whistle, and sound of waves. That was our second visit and we still have appreciated

For whale watching it’s well worth driving the extra 24 Kilometers from Tadoussac to Les Bergeronnes for viewing the whales in the St. Lawrence. We kissed Blue whales, Fin whales and actually saw the mighty blow, hump, dive and magnificent tail of the Humpback whale, and get this… all on the same 2 hour trip. Do yourself a favor and... More

Our first impressions: extremely clean, quiet, and just WOW. Because of the negative review about cancellations, I didn't book early because I was unsure of our plans. When I went to book just a few days before arrival, there was virtually no availability. In their broken English and my broken French, we were able to piece together a 2 night... More

We have been going to Essipit every year for 10 years and still hate to leave. This area is one of the richest Native Reserves I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The whole area is neat, quiet, clean, well maintained and professionally run, with friendly staff. The management rents condos that look out onto the St. Lawrence... More

We took the Essipit Zodiac boat tour and saw a lot of whales. Remember to dress very warm... it was over 23 degrees celcius on land, but we wore thermal underwear and sweatshirts, plus the coats they gave us for the boat, and we were still cold on the water. Bring your own hat (toque) and gloves... they have some... More

I enjoyed my trip there in 2006 and booked again for 2011. My wife now has cancer and we can't go. The nonrefundable reservation fee was supposed to be good for 1 year... well that's not from the August date, but from dec. 2010 when i made the reservation. It's usually 1 year from date of actually arriving... rip off
