a charming village with a couple of food stores. The little fish store on the road has fresh and good fish.
We were in st. maarten for a week vacation and being so close to st. barths had to visit. we are parrot heads and heard about st. barths from a famous or infamous bar by lorient beach called Autour Du Rocher. Very quiet little beach in Lorient and was close to my house in Marigot Bay. Only locals around. Lots of young surfers around for the weekend in a competition.

Here is one for you. I plunked my wife on the beach. Set up my rented chair! (You rent beach chair in St Jean for $30 a week!) I walked over to the mini mart. I bought a beautiful apple and a beer. Walked back ..wife topless. Heaven!

This beach does not have the usual island sand, more like finely ground coral. It is very comfortable to walk on and sun bathe on; it's just a little different. Lots of boats moored (picturesque) so the swim area is narrow. Not a problem, though. Love this beach!
An empty beach just for us ! Sublime beach in a peaceful wild and pristine nature.
