Visited Banff and Lake Louise after retiring. Always wanted to see it. We were not disappointed. Very easy to walk along the path which was paved at the start of the trail and later nicely cleared. The lake is greenish blue and we are told resembles lakes in Europe. Absolutely beautiful! Many excellent vantage points to take pictures. The walk... More

A breathtaking view of a serene and tranquil lake surrounded by mountains to the left and right, a glacier in the front and a classic hotel at the back. The view could have been much better if not for the light drizzle during the visit. Still one could sip coffee at the Fairmont and view it from inside the hotel... More

Wow! Early May and the lake was 97% frozen but melted on the edges and it was amazingly clear. We were able to scoop out some passing ice that was floating close to the shore and enjoy a few small chucks - our daughters thought this was cool and it tasted pure. Great views as you walk around and worth... More

Done a four day tour of Banff and Jasper national Parks also took in columbian ice fields. Circle tours started out in Vancouver and this four day trip was the highlight of our 3 week stay. The tour guide Jeff was most pleasant and knowledgeable. Having being in the south island I did not think there was a more beautiful... More

We went to the Lake twice on our visit to the park. The first time it was misty and quite eerie. We couldn't see the mountains to the rear of the lake but it was beautiful in its own way. We returned a couple of days later and the clouds had lifted and the beauty was there for all to... More

We are so glad we left the Glacier National Park early and traveled to Banff National Park. The sights and accommodations are so much better in this area that we will never return to glacier and are planning a longer visit to this park. Very highly recommended.

Lake Louise is heavenly blue, and everyone should visit here. Stayed at the Rocky Mountain Lodge and loved it. Ate dinner at the Fairmont, expensive but good. The trails are amazing, lots of bear, saw a grizzly and some black bears. The grizzly actually ran in front of us and then swam across the lake, very cool. I highly recommend... More

The lake itself is gorgeous. However, it is a cony Island atmosphere due to the large amount of people. There is a magnificent hotel right on the lake and canoes are available for rent. I, personally, do not like the crowds and Lake Moraine is a much better choice.

Every time i come here, i get irritated with the crowds. And then i see the lake... I then realize why the crowds come here. This place is absolutely Stunning. I have been to Many mountain lakes and few if any compare to this gem. If you want to avoid the crowds, get up real early for sunrise in the... More
