Wonderful way to keep fit while climbing the 5km hike to the top of Sulphur mountain following climbers to the top, being encouraged by climbers coming back down the mountain, that you are close to the top...
We hiked up Sulfur Mountain in August-- It wasn't an easy hike, but we were too cheap to pay for the gondola ride up, figuring we'd just pay the one-way fee going down. We started out fairly early (around 8:30am) and only saw a few other people on the trail. The view from the top is incredible on a clear... More
Such a fun attraction to take the kids or GrandParents on! Thrilling views, excellent service and such a fun experience. I highly recommend this to anyone. Make sure you bring water, a jacket and your camera because not only are the views breath taking over little old Banff, but it gets very chilly even in Summer at 2,800 m's! Caio
On a bright sunny day we took the Gondola Ride to reach on the top of Sulphur Mountain. The ride is expensive but when gondola started climbing to the mountain slopes, with a spectacular view all around,,we realised that money was worth spend. No doubt that the whole area on the top of this mountain is mainly for the tourists and that's why... On a clear day the view is extensive. Worth the price of entry. Gondola ride is steep , gives a great view of Banff.
A little pricey but the trip to the top was great, lots to do up there, beautiful view of the area. the trail to the old weather shed was worth it, lots to read history plaques everywhere. stay up top as long as u like. Food and drinks available up there. neat - will go back for sure
It was well worth the charge, you can see for miles, it was a beautiful sunny day and fairly warm, didn't need a coat.
This was a great hike - there is a gondola too, but the hike isn't all too strenuous, I wasn't very fit and we did it in under a couple of hours. The view from the top is fantastic, you're able to get a 360 degree view of the mountains and valleys surrounding. This is a popular spot, there are... More
As an add on to our Rocky Mountaineer trip we had a ride to the top of the world. The forests were dusted with snow and we were met with a magnificent vista at the top. I would have liked the staff to be a little more professional in the way they loaded the gondolas, we had people in ours... More
As other have said this is expensive but you can get a package to do this, Lake Minnewanka and the Icefields Glacier tour and save about $60. Nice little gondolas that fit 4 people, so you may be lucky and get one to just your party. Great views and good walkways to other peak. We had excellent sunshine and clear... More
