I've been going to Bowness Park for 50 plus years and it was always my favourite park in the city, a place to skate in the winter, canoe in the summer and walk and relax and picnic all year round. The park has lost it's charm, the children's midway rides are gone, the green space has become smaller with larger... More

Given the relatively small size of Bowness Park, it manages to somehow provide natural tuck-aways, a romantic little river for summer picnics and winter winding skating, a huge water feature with a fountain for summer scenic & boating pleasure and also winter ice skating, a good natural aggressive rough river side, several wide open spaces for tossing around a frisbee... I've always liked picnicking and walking in the park, but it was quite a mess during my last visit. Lots of construction has been taking place. The cafe is closed. I wonder if I can visit there during this summer...

From playgrounds and walking paths to throwing rocks in the river, our family never gets tired of visiting Bowness Park throughout the year. The park looks spectacular in the fall with its colorful foliage. Skating is a must in the winter. The picnic sites are plentiful and washrooms are easily accessible. In the summer you can't visit without stopping in... More

This park along the river has been one of our favourites since the mid 70's. An excellent venue for a picnic.

This is a nice park in Calgary and offers a lot of summer and winter activities. That said, it isn't as pretty as some of the city center parks (i.e. Prince's Island) so I'd go there before going here.

Bowness/Baker's park is a well used beautiful park. It has huge trees, a skating pond in the winter, and BBQ pits in the summer. It has a dog park which is used daily, and a fairly flat well kept walking path that goes in a circle around the river. it has received some upgrades in the form of artwork/ bronzes has... More

Bowness park is another Calgary gem. In the winter you can ice skate on the lagoon in the summer you can rent a canoe and just paddle around. We often put our raft into the water at Bowness and raft down the river on hot days. A great place to picnic with groups and we attend group picnics there every... More

I love Bowness Park! It is an attraction year round! In the summer you can rent paddle boats and paddle around the lagoon and small lake that has a cool little fountain. After that you can grab an icecream cone. If you're going in the winter, that pond becomes a skating rink. I don't think you can rent them, but... More

Do not go near this park until the construction has been completed. All the roads around the park is closed except the skating pond also tough to enjoy when parking is very limited.
