I HAVE VISITED MANY TIMES. There are special event days when there is Ukrainian dancing, Ukrainian choirs, food, etc. However, during the season one can visit any day. There are workers in each building, who are dressed as the Ukrainian settlers dressed in 1928 and they play the part, encouraging you as a visitor to play with them. Go along... More

like other posters have mentioned, bring your walking shoes. They do have food on site but it is limited. We figured we were at a ukrainian experience so we should have the kielbassa and perogies. It was standard fare. The experience at the village is great. To best enjoy it, you need to talk to the actors as if you... More

The history of modern Alberta is closely intertwined with the Ukranian settlers that arrived in the late 1800's up until the 1930's. They arrived with little more than what they could carry, and using basic tools at first, opened up what would become some of Alberta's most productive farmland. Their history along with 30 plus historic buildings that have been... More

This cultural centre is abit of a drive from Edmonton, but the trip out there is nice. When you get there be prepared for lots of walking. First of all it is a hike to get from the parking lot to the village and once you are in the village you must walk a lot to get from one building... More

A very short drive from Edmonton going east you find an old Ukranian settlement with a lot of actors playing in the moment. They are dressed and act as they would have been in the day. All the buildings and equipment has been restored to a very high standard and shows well. This is a must see if you are... More

I loved the old buildings, the gardens that were planted and especially the people dressed in character and acting in character, accents included. The initial house built, a sod house was interesting and cozy with a garden planted nearby. We had a great time and my friends who are from China some of them thought that the people really did... Great to see the buildings and people in character. They serve food out of a building next to the parking lot, not in the heritage area. The food was very good.
