We were attracted by the film on butterflies, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then we learned that for a nominal sum, we could see a second film on the Great Lakes, and happily watched this too. Regardless of the topic, Imax does every subject well. Everyone who has seen Imax, knows what the experience is like. Anyone who has not, must... More

I liked the huge screen and great sound but the show was less than an hour and it is not cheap. The good part is there are no bad seats, theatre is roomy, the screen is immense and the sound system is great.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some comments after your recent visit. We're very pleased to hear that you enjoyed some of the key attributes of the IMAX experience in our theatre (big screen, great sound and good seating), but sorry you thought our admission cost was a little high. One small suggestion (should you visit us again... More

This is one of the classic IMAX Theaters, not the type are going in at a lot of normal movie Theaters. It's HUGE! Very similar to the one at the Seattle Science Center. I've been going there for over 15 years, and it's always great! Watching feature films here is really a great experience. It's a great activity for winter... More

Many thanks for your kind comments. We're so pleased that you enjoyed your IMAX experience at our theatre. You're right, it is a big screen, and is in fact, the biggest IMAX screen west of the Canadian Rockies - very similar to the one run by our good colleagues in Seattle at the Pacific Science Centre. Once again, thank you.... More

Thank you for your comments and for posting a review on two of our films. Of course we're a little biased, but we like both films too! Flight of the Butterflies has been receiving fantastic reviews since its opening April 5th. Mysteries of the Great Lakes will end June 6, 2013 and Butterflies will stay on the schedule into the... When the weather is cool and clammy, this is the best way to spend the afternoon. Movie after movie with small breaks between. The staff are so informed and helpful. I love it.

I saw 3 films during my trip to the Royal BC Museum. Mysteries of the Great Lakes, The Last Reef, and my favorite Flight of the Butterflies. An awesome way to watch films is the IMAX format with the giant screen and the way the viewer seems to be right in the pictures - as if you were in an... More

Thank you for your kind comments. Your favorite Flight of the Butterflies has been very popular and is generating lots of positive reviews from all ages. We certainly agree that it's fun to see children (young and old!) being absorbed by the giant screen experience. Although I may sound a little bias, there's nothing like it! Thank you again and... The IMax always has short films on - several in a day, as well as a "blockbuster" at night - such as Harry Potter, the Hobbit, etc. Great to see it on the giant screen and in surround sound. Check it out next time your are in Victoria - and get the combo ticket and see the Royal BC Museum... More

Lots of variety of topics and have a full length movie on the Imax screen in the evenings. Fun for all ages - something the family can do together.
