I lived near the Forks for several years. It's a great place to meet up with friends! There's good food, a nice market, beautiful scenery, and all kinds of activities going on all year round (skating in winter, walking tours, dancing, etc.). If you're ever in Winnipeg, check it out! :)
Attended w/my granddaughter before and after Santa Claus Parade. Went early to obtain parking - free and had no problems. Wandered around inside and granddaughter enjoyed free entertainment as well as a balloon animal made for her (reasonable fee) Enjoyable few hours.
A wonderful place for walks, browsing and good food Varying exhibits and attractions always. get out in the winter and walk the area@ Wonderful view of the new Human Rights Museum from this place
The Forks offers lots of little shops to get that something you can't get anywhere else, handmade and unique. You can also stroll the river walk or take the river tour or taxi. It is wonderful!
Marianne W said it all. If you look for unique gifts - this is the place. Lots of different food places.
I enjoy walking on the path by the river in the summer, and when you are thirsty, there is always a number of places to stop and have a sip whatever your pleasure is.
