No matter what night of the week, there's live music on George Street. Even early in the evening, before the pubs have started to fill, there are still great musicians playing to mostly empty rooms. This changes as the night goes on, of course. Then there are great musicians playing to great crowds. I love that the pub owners don't... More

George Street is a short street with bars on both sides right the way down the street. For lunch, I'd recommend the excellent fish and chips at Kelly's Pub (they also do very inexpensive but very good steak! and a variety of other pub food). Greensleeves is another spot you could try for lunch. For a more varied menu, try... More

What's there to say? If you like loud loud and louder then this is for you. A short street for pedestrians alone to stumble upon at will, without a care in their alcohol-soaked world. Something to experience for a night, no more. Always a good place if you are into people watching - studies in psychology abound here.

I have traveled and worked all over the world but this street is the best by far, If you like a drink and a laugh then this is the street for you, Bars , Clubs fish and chips, everything is here. If you do end up here try and get screeched in what a laugh.

Lots of choices for dining and dancing. Area feels safe and conveniently located downtown. NFLDers are quite friendly. Thanks for the hospitality!

We really enjoyed our night bar hopping on George Street. And of course, getting screeched in at Christian's just added to the fun! We just missed the street festival, which would have been a hoot.

Went to George Street while on vacation with some friends. We had to go for the experience and what a time we had. Were from Nova Scotia so were use to long neck bottles but here they have what we call stubbies. Besides the expensive price for short beer there were a good couple of places with live music and...
