Went here on a Friday during a weekend trip to Ottawa. Since we've been to Ottawa many times, we came here based on a recommendation from a friend. We were there with our kids (12,8,3) and our nieces and nephews (ages between 5&9).
My kids called it the farm since there's a big barn. It really basically is a big...

We came because we had the Capital's Museum Passport and it was free but the place is definitely designed for young children; skip it if no one in your party is under ten.
The animals are great. Take a wagon ride. Pet a goat or a rabbit. Visit the tractor and farm machinery displays.
My girlfriend worked there last summer, and I spent some time there as I got to go in for free, and the museum is amazing. Lots of animals to see and learn about. Lots of space for you and your family to move around without feeling too crowded. And a very friendly staff, highly recommend a visit for anyone in...

The Ottawa Agriculture museum is a Hit! As farmers, we are always a bit suspect of too-clean, too-touristy "Agriculture" tourist attractions. Lots of fun for kids of all ages. LEarn about how food is made and animals are cared for before they are made into food! The harse drawn cart ride around the farm is fun, and there are bike paths criss-crossing the whole place, which feels like an oasis of nature in a large city.
OK little ones, bring our parents they will enjoy this place. Oh look they have animals you can pet, some are not for petting, it's just a very fun place for the little short stops in our family. It's where with supervision you can let your little ones run around and marvel at all the animals.
I am interested in agricultural history and this is a real gem. They have rare and older breeds of Canadian cows and pigs and horses. The barns are beautifully maintained and it allows children face to face access with farm animals and teaches them about the realities of farming. We are lucky to have this
