We spent an hour & a half there & probably could have spent longer but we had a lunch reservation. It is perfect for kids as there were many activities for them to try

This is a great place to visit. I wasn't sure what to expect here, but it was really interesting and there were some cool hands-on activities for kids. There is also a nice playground outside. Admission is by donation!

We enjoyed an afternoon viewing the various exhibits on site. The curatorial write up’s were informative. A pleasant way to spend a few hours.

We dropped in one summer afternoon. Lots of history of the area, fantastic pictures. I found out what used to be where my subdivision and house were built. Great way to spend an hour or 2 with the spouse.

We went to see the Monarch Butterfly Exhibit. I took my 7 and 4 year old grandchildren because they love insects. Kind of disappointing because it was just pictures.

Surprisingly, there is no admission fee to the museum but please feel free to make a donation at the end of your visit. Took my brother and his wife here recently. Very informative on the history of this great region. I learned about the topography of the area, the original peoples who roamed the lands and then the Europeans who followed. It was interesting to learn of some of the history behind the street names in Peterborough (Stewart, George, etc) as well as local industrial development etc. There is also an added exhibit on the Monarch migration that I found very informative and included some great photography.

I love this place, and not just because I'm near it for school everyday. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Peterborough and area, the exhibit space is nicely designed, and the gift shop is fantastic for holiday shopping. The temporary space changes quote often as well, so there's always something new to look forward to.

Recently visited the Canada 150 exhibit. So interesting to see Peterborough's history on display. I learned so much and have lived here all my life. My grandson who just turned 3 enjoyed carrying his ``bear backpack` and many children`s activities in the permanent galleries. We had fun playing in the old fashion Farmer`s market stand. Delightful gift shop with a wide range of gifts for all ages and budgets. Beautiful grounds and enjoyed relaxing while little one had fun on the playground equipment.
A wonderful visit and close enough to wander down and watch the boats travel thru Peterborough`s famous Lift locks.
