Established in 1887, the Toronto Society of Architects is among Canada's oldest architecture and design advocacy organizations. A volunteer-based, non-profit organization, the TSA plays an important role in Toronto, ensuring architecture and design are key considerations in public discussions and in processes that have an impact on our built environment. Today's tour of St. Lawrence market area in Toronto was much more than I expected.
During the tour the guide referred to historical facts about Toronto and how they shaped the current architecture.
It gave me a new perspective of an area of Toronto that I've seen many times.

The Harbourfront tour was my first tour with the TSA and it won’t be my last.

The tour guide was easy to spot and the tour started on time and moved at a good pace and was the perfect length. While the guide did seem to be reading from a script for most of the tour, there was a lot of information provided so I can appreciate that would be hard to memorize.

I would definitely recommend these tours to any architecture lover or enthusiast, or anyone who just wants to learn a bit more about Toronto. Regardless of how long you have lived here, I can pretty much guarantee you will walk away from a tour with more information than you started and probably a greater appreciation of the buildings and places you have seen so many times!

An excellent value for money!

The TSA tours are really an under-the-radar gem. I have attended a few now and can truly say that they have been very worthwhile. I am entertained and I learn something new about the city where I have lived for more than 30 years! The guides are great and the tour length can easily fit into a day with other activities. Full marks!

I didn't know what to expect from this tour, but it ended up being a highlight of my summer. Rania was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide (and started on time, a big plus for me!). I learned so much about the history of the Harbourfront over the past few decades (and longer!). It was an easy tour with stops to rest if needed, and the two hours flew by easily (and too fast!). I will definitely be checking out some of the other TSA tours soon.

From starting on time to ending with the architectural wonder of Skydome opening this tour was fantastic. The great entertainment buildings of the district are featured covering the 20th century entirely! And even walking Canada’s Walk Of Fame!
We see our greatest theatres, music hall,CBC,Rogers Center and get the “inside” scoop on these buildings ,their owners, their construction and even some secrets! Easy flat walking at economical price gives you an architectural and historical view of Toronto’s Entertainment District.Well worth and educating.

Took the 'Towers' tour on August 5 led by Daniel. My first time on a TSA tour that I found by chance online. For a very small fee, you get two hours of walking downtown Toronto contrasting towers from 100 years ago to towers today. Very interesting and fun time - would recommend to all!

Fantastic for both locals and tourists! As locals we were thrilled to learn more about our neighborhood - and the couple visiting TO on our tour also loved it. Highly recommend - they have mikes with speakers and there were plenty of chances to sit, listen and learn! Hope to do more of these!!

I have done several walking tours put on by the Toronto Society of Architects; the latest tour covered the St Lawrence neighborhood tour and it was wonderful. I bought friends from the city along Wirth a friend visiting from the US and we all enjoyed the tour. The tour was informative and the tour guide was excellent! its especially impressive that these tours are run by working architects who guide these tours as volunteers. I highly recommend the TSA walking tours.
