This park covers a large swarth of PEI's coastline and provides for kilometre after kilometre of wonderful beach wandering. Some sections become crowded on hot days but it is easy to loose the hoards by continuing to walk. The sand is such a lovely red! The section near the Greenwich Peninsula is also beautiful - a mixture of boardwalk, marshes,... More

A lot has been said about this park already and I won't waste your time repeating it. I just wanted to mention that I visited the park on July 1st long weekend in 2012, and it was an amazing time. I am very much into cycling and found that I could take my bike everywhere, with little to no vehicle... More

Absolutely gorgeous describes this park. Standing on the edge of one of those red cliffs, looking out at the St. Lawrence -- just breathtaking. Like standing at the edge of the earth. Drive slow, folks, because there is a lot of wildlife zipping in and out of the brush.

We took the ferry over from Caribou, Nova Scotia, settled in our hotel in Charlottetown and made our way north to the PEI Narional Park, about one half hour's drive. There are two sections to the park, with the western portion mostly beach (watch the mosquitos!) and the eastern portion comprised of red bluffs plunging into the ocean- like Gulf... More

Driving along the northern coast of Prince Edward Island, you drive through PEI National Park. The Park preserves the sandy beaches and the northern shore of PEI. There are facilities along the stretches of the Park, available with several scenic views.

This is a very scenic park which includes the Anne of Green Gables historical site. It is well worth the visit to see Prince Edward Island and the beautiful country.

When we went we had the park to ourselves. Covehead Lighthouse was nice but there was nowhere to park and view it. We saw a fox while riding through North Rustico. It came up to the car and made a nice photo.

We took a short driving trip around the Maritimes. Left Charlottetown for Anne of Green Gables House in Cavendish (to be followed by Bottle Houses in Cap-Egmont. Direct route would be faster, but let's take the scenic route instead. Through PEI National Park. Wow! The best part is the dunes. Take a walk on the beach and enjoy the sand... More

This is the PEI National Park, Cavendish. There is another section of the park further east, PEI National Park, Brackley-Dalvay. The Cavendish part of the park is right near the Anne of Green Gables site. It is a very large, long beach, lots of sand dunes to walk around, a nice long beach to walk on, plus washroom and shower... More

There is a beautiful if somewhat linear paved bike path that covers the three sections of the park. There are panels with information and lookouts (or look offs) along the way. The Cavendish section is probably the best one for swimming and the Homestead Trail is beautiful (not paved but easy to bike). The Brackley-Dalvay section has good swimming beaches... More
