Its a fantastic walk to the top in the spring, the summer and the fall, perfect for a single person, a couple or a family. On a sunny day, this place is a paradise for a pic nics and a beautiful outdoor day or pure fresh air! In the winter its great for sliding and skating!!

A must see for Montreal visitors. Park near McGill University and climb the mountain-- or park by Beaver Lake in the park, and walk 10 minutes up to the overlook; its a mandatory stop for visitors. Bathrooms and snack bar at the top.

There are two routes to take you to the top of Mont Royal, I recommend the one to the east, get the metro to Mont Royal station and make your way to the park through the alleys and backstreets of Montreal. We were given incorrect information and ended up walking the longest way possible to the park but it was worth it. The view from the top isn't spectacular but the stops along the way are. Take bus No. 11 from Mount Royal stop and get off when you first see the city view on you left. Afterwards continue back to the bus same direction to the end and return get off at Mount Royal or any stop you want to get off.

Went on this nice walk from central Montreal. Really nice strolling in up the hill in the forest and then what a view. We were there as the sun was coming down on the city, stunning !

Great park with lots to see. Great for a long walk or a lung bursting bike ride. Easy to follow routes or you can get off the beaten path with little risk of getting lost. Walk ways are well maintained.

Despite the bus driver's agreeing to let us know when we'd got to the stop for Maison Smith, he didn't. We got off the bus way past the correct trail and couldn't find our way to the park's beautiful overlook without 1) a taxi, then 2) a friendly soda vendor who redirected us to the "other top" of Mont Royal!
