what a great place this is. i ve seen many a bot garden elsewhere but montreal has a great garden..the insectarium is also so interesting now that it is fashionable to eat bugs..the flowers probably are edible too.. but then again, when i m hungry or angry, my judgement is impaired.

A well established and well laid out garden. The Chinese garden is beautiful. You can easily combine this with the biodome and the tower in a day trip.

I've been to botanical gardens in major cities around the world and found this one to be on par. The exhibits were beautiful and well cared for. I specifically enjoyed the orchids, ferns and cacti. The most amazing feature was the fact that there was a room full of butterflies freely roaming among plants and fruit set out to attract... More

I did not like that the flowers were not fully bloomed yet. And we weren't told how far away it was so we walked 3.6 miles from our hotel. But the sights near it are very close together

My wife and I have found this botanical garden to be beautifully maintained with a wide variety of flora each time we have visited the gardens over the years. Particularly impressive are the Japanese and Chinese gardens. It's a beautiful place to take a long stroll; one can easily spend 3-4 hours there and not see it all. It is... More

A wonderful extensive site. Something for everyone and incorporates the insect museum so good for all weathers. We visited in the spring, all the blossom starting and lucky enough to see a fox and her cub but I have also visited in October and seen halloween pumpkins and a chinese lantern festival. Well worth a visit and combine it with... More

The territory is big and there are different gardens inside. We liked Chinese, Japanese and Alpine gardens. There are a lot of places you can just sit on a bench and read a book enjoying the view.

My first trip to Montreal and I'd heard about the Botanical Gardens. It was well worth the admission (around $16) to see the ten greenhouses, each with a different theme (tropical, dessert, hacienda, bonsai). The exhibits were very well done and labeled so you could enjoy learning about new things. The entrace to the building is lined with thousands upon... More

The main attraction of the botanic gardens is a layout of 10 greenhouses, each has an exhibition of a different environment, from desert environment to tropical forest. The last greenhouse features the most amazing butterflies exhibition i have ever seen. it is mind blowing to stand in that greenhouse with so many butterflies flying around you. see more about the... We aim to visit the Botanical Gardens at least once per year with the children. They love it every time and it is quite a learning experience. WIth the Insectarium and Biodome right there, you can easily make a whole day of it. We personally like to just roam the gardens, take the shuttle train to the further sections and... More
