Our family has made 2 to 3 trips per year with our 21ft trailer to Rathtrevor Provincial park. This is a great park and beach to camp at, and only gets better. The kids park was redone and they added a bike park this spring. The bath houses are always well kept, and the proximity to the beach is great.... More

Always stop for a day trip or for camping. I am a local and we camp here. The beach is family friendly and has great bathrooms. The trails have easy access with a mix of forest and beach. You can bring your dog and the parking lot is close to the beach. Our son's school comes here for beach day... More

Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is a great place for young children....lots of grassy areas to play on, a sandy beach that stays shallow for a long distance out, and paths in the woods to explore.

Our family love this beach. Many on route to Tofino may miss this gem with the new highway. I urge any newbies to Vancouver island to stop in Parksville area on your way so you can take in the beauty of this amazing beach. The Provincial park offers camping and picnic tables. You can relax with children when the tide... More

This park and beach is perfect for families with small children. The water is shallow and the tidepools are full of the oceans treasures. When the tide comes in over the warm sand the water can be quite warm as well.

We've only visited the beach here but it is fantastic! Lots of sand, great for collecting clam shells and sand dollars. Don't forget your kite or skim board…or just enjoy digging through the tidal pools! Just a note: Know the tidal chart for the time you are visiting! During low tide you can walk out for miles…but be careful, if... More

Fantastic beach, I don't like making reservations for a public campground. The beach is a distance from the campsites and there expensive. However, I guess in the big picture it's all relevant to what most families expect for provincial campsites.

When you have a provincial park that is bookended by high end resorts you know that it is a winner. The scenery is amazing and there are wonderful scenic trails to walk and tidal beaches to comb. They have done a great job of preserving the natural aspects of the park while providing some wonderful campsites with easy access to... More
