Went to Chester Zoo by rail from Liverpool. Initally we intended to disembark at Bache but had to be bused to Chester railway station when there was an incident that meant the train was halted at Hooton Station. At Hooton we enquired about the bus leaving Bache station for the zoo and was told by a station official that there... More

Me and my partner visited chester zoo July/August last year and fell in love with the place we came back this year! Lots of exciting animals, and many baby animals, big enclosures and friendly staff. The only thing that disappointed us is that at 3pm the gift shops and most of the restaurants were closed, we thought considering the price... More

Chester Zoo is brilliant, it was a really good day out. There are so many animals to see and the zoo is very big. The weather was good so it was nice to stroll around the zoo. There are plenty of places to sit and eat, the facilities are good. The mono rail is good to see all of the... More

One of the best zoos in the UK. Lots of different animals to see and great conservation programmes. I would recommend taking your own food, as it is quite pricey and there isn't a massive selection. It does take a few hours to walk round the whole zoo. Not all animals were visible, but that can't be helped. Animals should... More

Food was ok & considering how busy, the cafe was very clean & the staff very helpful. Rather dis-organised.

We went to Chester Zoo particularly to see the black rhino, orang utan, jaguar, cheetah and giant otters. It was a great experience and we actually managed to see the animals we wanted to see - except that the cheetahs were not visible. But the families of giraffe and elephant - both with babies - were full compensation.

Initially questioned the high entrance fee (£50 for 2 adults and a 3 year old) but, having now visited think it was totally justified. We spent 5 hours there and did not see everything. We all had our favourites - could have watched the orang-utans all day and the viewing area which allowed you to see underwater in the giant... More

I enjoyed a day out with my boyfriend on a weekend away in Chester. This was a lovely day out. The Zoo is situated in very large grounds with plenty to do and see. If you are travelling with a family, take a picnic and drinks as it is very expensive to eat, ie; £7:35 for a bagel !!!! You... More

I have been every year for the last 5 years and I must admit its getting better every year.... While the animals are pretty much the same as every other year, the park is looking amazing and the facilities have been improved significantly, with better places to eat, better shop and finally a penguin enclosure where you can see them...
