Nice little beach, easy to get to - really nice out of season. Clean and nice to walk along. We always go out of season so not sure how busy it gets in the height of summer.
Porthminster Beach is a wonderful sand beach suitable for families with smaller kids and the Porthminster Cafe provides excellent dinners with emphasis on creative fish dishes.
Great opportunity to enjoy the scenery and weather and chat with the lovely locals that have been there all of there lives. Shame about the number of Pizza shops in St Ives, clearly fishing declined some time ago!
Like all beaches in Cornwall, they are probably at their best when the sun's shining! Porthminster is no exception, although its worth a visit on a stormy day too! This is a lovely beach & great for children. there is a cafe, restaurant & take away. All good quality. This is my preferred beach in St Ives.
beautiful sand, very clean, lovely for children to play, especially when the tide goes out,lovely views of st ives. get there EARLY to park the car, and to chose your "spot" on the beach, lovely putting green, the best beach children.
Porthminster beach is fabulous, clean,family safe and great tea ,coffee,and muffins at cafe only problem is the public toilets they are fine in the morning but on a hot sunny day when the beach is packed by lunchtime they are disgusting so come on Cornwall council in the name of hygene make special cleaning arrangements for the the summer holiday...
