We was at a conference at nearby Bournemouth and had a spare day and decided to hire a car to take a trip here. Best decision we made had a really enjoyable 3 hours looking around and in the various tanks, vehicles and displays they have, a real boys toys day. The facilities are very good and it is well... Went to the Tank Museum in May 2013, while staying in Dorset on holiday. We had a full afternoon looking at tanks and even my wife was interested. Fortunately Grandma took my 3 year old daughter elsewhere for the day as I don't think she'd have been taken with it. Apart from rows and rows of tanks rather crammed in,... More

What an amazing place! so much to do and so reasonable, easy to find and great facilities. After our first experience, being allowed into one of the tanks (which was unexpected) we were then shown around another part of the Museum by Dale who had so much information to pass on, and his enthusiasm was contagious, it was an added... I only found out about this place when travelling home and decided to drop in and have a look. I was really impressed with the various tanks on display and the layout, taking you through the history of the tank with the various conflicts including the modern day campaign in Afghanistan. Some may think this is a bit of a... More

Thought this museum would be boring, as I am not really interested in tanks, but found it very interesting in parts. I particularly liked the section on Afghanistan, which was very moving, also the Wartime House, recognized some of the items on display! We went on a quiet Friday morning, in term time, and had the place almost to ourselves.

Entry comes with an annual pass, so we have been twice now, and still have not viewed all the vehicles yet. The tour starts with WW1 from call up to the trenches, which are very realistic. Then WW1 vehicles to the present along with other displays, a WW2 house medals etc. There is a recreation of Helmand, a fantastic dedication... More

I have visited the Tank Museum on Sunday 24.04. A day well spend. The exhibition is full of great machines, a real pleasure for a history lover. £12.50 is a small price for the pleasure of seing treasures like King Tiger...:) I wish I could see one of their events, that must be really amazing.

A really good and inexpensive family day out. An impressive display of tanks and other millitary vehicles with loads of information on each and every display. We also found the cafe area full of choices for us and the kids at reasonable prices.

This was a great place to visit although a little expensive. We had a small child with us so could not stay too long - could have been there for hours. The Afghanistan section and the trenches were brilliant. Would have loved to have been there for one of their events.
