Really enjoyed this river trip up and down the Stour in Canterbury, in a fairly large rowing boat. Great entertaining commentary from 'Captain Tom' with lots of historical facts. I thought it was good value at £8.50 for 40 minutes or so. You do need to duck quite a bit to avoid the low bridges, but that just adds to... More

Hi, amazing that they received such a high score. Likeable, if not charming, eloquent, polite young people as guides / engine of small rowing type boat. The stories are good, well told etc, if somewhat superficial, but entertaining and would suffice for most non UK residents. However, it can not hide the fact that one goes up and down the... More

When your cruise ship docks in Dover, England what is your next course of action? Stay aboard ship? We opted to take a daytrip to Canterbury, the legendary city made famous by Geoffrey Chaucer, Christopher Marlowe, and Thomas Becket among many others. Efficient, timely transportation to Canterbury was provided by the excellent British rail system and we were whisked away... More

We managed to fit this in after trying to fit the old city and the Cathedral in two days. It was good fun with a humerous guide and it was historic. The trip is short in distance but still takes a good 40 minutes and is well worth it. We had a real mixture of nationalities on our boat but... More

We enjoyed this short boat trip, being rowed by an exuberant student who clearly loved his job on a nice sunny Sunday morning. There's quite a bit of ducking under the low bridges but this is a very tranquil and pictureque experience. Worth the £8.50

We visited the Canterbury Historic River tours in May 2013. Our tour was great, only 4 others on our boat, which made it very engaging. Our guide was very funny and knowledgeable. The tour lasted approximately 40 minutes. There are some very low bridges, which wasn't a problem for us, but sometimes the boat does drift, which means that one... More

Billed as a River Trip with commentary this is a delightful way to spend 40 mins. The boats are rowed and the commentary is given by the person rowing. It was informative and entertaining, if a little congested with other has fro both HT's and other companies. Definitely recommended.

I went there yesterday with my grandma & grandpa. We were only 3 on the boat &... we didn't understand really good English. Our Captain, Tom, tried his best to explain us in French (our native language) during all the tour. I'm really thankful to him! It was great!
