In febuary I attended the Bread making classe which was great,as I have been trying to make Bread for the past two years but its always been a challenge till I came to the baking lab. I did the cake baking 101 and it was brilliant. There were just four of us in the group so I felt I had as much attention as needed to ensure I was doing everything properly. The course was detailed without being patronising and the explanations were great in helping me to understand where I had been going wrong previously.... More

I have just done the French Breadmaking course at Bake with Maria. The day was great, well run, extremely friendly and non intimidating. Emmanuel was a really good teacher, letting us work on our own but always there when we needed a helping hand. Since doing the course I've made the baguettes and fougasse again at home, with success, and... More

For our birthdays my wife treated my niece and I to a day of cooking baguette, fougasse and brioche. Our teacher Emmanuel could not have been better. He was amusing, clear, and extremely helpful. Our hands-on lesson was easy to follow but if we ran into difficulty (which I did) Emmanuel was there to help. Not only did we learn... More

I did the french bread class and had a great day and brought home 2 baguettes, an olive loaf and a chocolate brioche - and were fantastic. None of my previous attempts at bread making at home had been edible. this course has given me the confidence to try again.

I have always wanted to learn how to make croissants and this class did not disappoint. Not only did we learn how to make croissants but using the same dough, we also made Pain au Chocolat, pain au raisin, danish apple braid and triangle twists. By the end of the class, we had lots to take home. Pino taught us... More

Three great classes with Maria and Emmanuel. I wanted more practice baking sourdough loaves and certainly achieved that over the course. We baked pizza, bagels, and several other delicious breads including 100% rye. The teaching was good and the facilities excellent. All in all very enjoyable and useful for a keen artisan baker.

I did the macaroon workshop a couple of weeks ago while i was on holiday in London. It was great! all the techniques to making a perfect macaroon were taught in detail and so well. its a completely hands on class so after a demonstration of each process you have to do it at your workstation independently. I couldnt believe... More

I enjoyed a great day yesterday learning to bake 3 different French breads. Maria and her helpers are so knowledgeable and encouraging. The group was very friendly and I came home with a bag of delicious bread, which I could hardly wait to try.We were also given the recipes and lots of helpful information about ingredients and equipment - can't...
