This journey takes you though some of the most beautiful parts of North Yorkshire. A stress free way to travel in todays busy world. A chance to see some of the places you would miss by road.
Beautiful Scenery... The stations are kept so clean and tidy.. it is like travelling back in time... Lovely....
I was travelling by train (you can get reasonably proced railrover tickets for the whole of thenorth east- recommernded). Lovely views between Whitby and Middlesborough. Infrequent service, so check times!

A leisurely journey into "Heartbeat" country, just a pleasant, gentle little excursion. The boys love the steam engines, the countryside is lovely and you can have a drink in the Aidensfield Arms ... on ly the one, it's pretty expensive.
Take the train up the Esk valley to Middlesbrough and then come back again through beautiful scenery. Lots of picturesque villages where the train stops. It's not a fast journey but you're there for the views so sit back and enjoy!
Fantastic !! We paid a few extra quid and travelled First Class. It was worth it because we had a carriage compartment all to ourselves. Friendly staff. Amazing scenery. And a definite must-do experience when visiting the area - even for non-anorak train spotters
A little expensive, only went 20 mins up the track but the fare was seven pounds. Just as well my other half is a bit of a train spotter!!!! great walk back, (6miles) lovely views although very boggy as it was October.
Beautiful scenery but let down by the standard of Northern Rails Trains. Does stop at some lovely stations such as Grosmont.
