Lovely river walk between the town centre and the Eden Court Theatre and the sun was shining! Some parts of Inverness do disappoint - it's much more industrial than I imagined and the harbour area abutting on to the Moray Firth is not exactly picturesque.

We took a pre-supper stroll to the Ness Islands (the Glen Way). Great way to take in the sights along the river. We started from Inverness Castle and intended to end the walk on the other bank at The Kitchen (we did not make reservations so our plans had to be slightly altered).

Riverfront is a good place to take a stroll. With spring blossoms everywhere, River Ness is beautiful and serene.

The river provides much beauty to the city. Check out the pictures on the web and you'll see for yourself.

Every city should have an exciting fast flowing river with bendy bridges and islands to wander through. Fisherman wade in the river within sight of the city centre. I wonder sometime how they stay upright in such a fast river.

A beautiful river that runs alongside the city of Inverness. The same watercourse that connect the world famous Loch Ness, I stopped to admire this river with a strong current maybe before to get in Loch Ness with my head full of legends of that sea monsters, I was getting ready to face the most famous lake of the country... We travelled on Jacobite cruises on the canal that runs adjacent, it was pretty and relaxing and we had to go through a small lock. If you have good weather it is a good way to chill.

We spent two evenings walking the banks of the Ness stopping at the sights and having pints. It was a relaxing way to see the town and a good night in the country
