I was treated to a visit to this very well set out museum for my birthday. Accessibility etc. seems to be top notch. I am a bit of a steam buff but there are no working trains here - this is a museum that portrays the lives of those thousand of people behind the scenes and I really enjoyed learning... More

I've been recently, with my boyfriend, at the Steam Museum in Swindon. I liked the fact that they tried to reproduce most they could, the reality of the everyday workers at that time (more than 4000 men and women were working intensely every day to build trains). Unfortunately some videos weren't working and we would have loved to see more... More

I actually work for the Council and attend this venue regularly for conferences but this is my first visit as a tourist. I took my family from Canada ranging in ages from 14-90 and all of them enjoyed it thoroughly. The detail into the exhibits is amazing, the props are realistic, loads of things to love aroun and see it... More

We were looking for something to do with our 6 year old Nephew. The car park outside the museum is not owned by the museum and is just intended for coaches, however the North Car Park adjoining the Shopping Outlet is a short walk away and you get car park fee reimbursed by using a ticket obtained when you visit... We were lucky enough to park right outside. The museum is very well presented in the old railway sheds and despite modernisation, has lost nothing of its historical past. The exhibits were both clear and interesting.

I was lucky to visit STEAM in the evening for dinner amongst the exhibits. Absolutely wonderful! Candlelight tables and a Brass band. The exhibits are superbly maintained and displayed.
