Pleasant streets. Pleasant shops. If you have time, by all means walk it. Nothing here that is not all over Paris.

This location is refinement of French on a small scale. Quiet without any hassle or bustle. My favourite location to find a small restaurant for a fixed price 2 or 3 course lunch with glass of wine and coffee.

Don't be bothered abut the security line. It moves fast. Don't be an idiot and hold it up either. Treat it like an airport line.

This Ile had a small charming park at the point overlooking the Seine River and some of the most important historical buildings in France. Its easy to navigate through the streets. They have set up stands so that you can just sit and admire the front of Notre Dame. I could spend hours there. Also many wonderful shops to get a Croque Monsieur (fantastic ham and cheese on bread covered in more cheese) and souvenir shops to wander.

So wonderful to walk around and experience the Romance of Paris. The city is like nothing you will ever experience anywhere else.

Great views from the bridges, with Pont Neuf and the nearby Pont Des Arts being particularly good for sunsets. Ile de la Cite houses Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle. In addition, pleasant atmosphere here.

The island is amazing and Notre Dame is well worth a visit, even of just to see it from outside and to listen to the bells. Didn't see the hunchback though....
