While staying in Aigues Mortes this April, my wife & I headed to Espiguete Beach for a pick-nic one warm sunny day. Located a short drive (15 minutes) away from town, Espiguette looks like it must attract huge crowds in the summer, but crowds are thin in April (even on the beautiful days), reaching only a trickle of visitors in... A great open beach that juts out into the Med and goes on for miles. The water is very safe for younger swimmers as it is very shallow. The only problem we found was getting there in high season, the traffic was horrendous and we had to park quite far from the beach as there was no space left. This... More

Although we visited this beach on a windy and cold november day, I could absolutely see the potential of this beach as the perfect Summer family location. Swimming was not really the principal activity on that particular day but kite flyers were a plenty! And brave windsurfers were also spotted in the water... I will definitely be returning when the... The beach is amazing. It was a bit of a challenge to get there from Montpellier (visiting for the first time) but well worth the effort. It is large and offers a wonderful swim and endless walk if you like wandering along the shoreline (watch out though, the sand can get really hot ;)). My travel: bus 106 from Montpellier,... More

We liked the type of fine sand and in the area where there are pines it is superb because there is more beach space. The only aspect to consider when going to this area is that you will be in nudist territory.

A fantastic beach for a relaxing holiday, It is so big there is room for everyone although the "textile" end gets more crowded - if you're relaxed about nudity you'll enjoy it more! Generally uncommercialised but there are cafes and sunloungers available if you want a bit of luxury. The food (salads, sandwiches, fruit and icecreams) at Cap Sud is... More

We just got back from a day on the beach here. Absolutely gorgeous. April May and September are the best times to go as this huge beach seems even more deserted. It's twenty minutes further than the others but oh so worth it. There are dunes to snuggle into against the sometimes brisk (or stronger) winds. No commerce, no concrete... More

This is a short trip (25mins from the city) on the bus (28) and well worth it. Its a nice enough beach which is clean, but its not that picturesque? Although its great if your on a short trip to Moontpellier and want to have a break from the city.

This is our favourite beach and while it is a bit of a drive to get to, well worth a visit. This is the largest and most 'natural' Languedoc beach. With so much space you will be able to find a quiet spot, even in high summer, if you are prepared to walk. The beach is deep and backed by... More

This beach is popular with kite surfers as there is generally lots of wind...I found it hard to stay on the beach as the wind whipped up all the sand so it ended up everywhere! Great if you are in the water doing windsurfing, kitesurfing etc.
