We went over to the ferry to U.K in cloud really wired feeling but the 5ish Euros for the experience
It was just a coincidence that we passed by the pont de normandie and enjoyed reading and seeing the step by step construction of this magnificient bridge built in 1995. Its a nice enough distraction if you are based close to Honfleur.
Forget the cost! If you are travelling from Calais to the south or vice versa, have no time waste and want to avoid the congestion of Rouen, this is the way to go. It's a mighty impressive structure, affords wonderful views of the Seine estuary and the port of Le Havre, and reinforces the view that, like their food, wine... More
En route to Honfleur we crossed the Normandy bridge passing over the Seine River. Reminded me a bit of the Zachim Bridge in Boston, or the San Francisco Bay bridge but not quite as large. The bridge is approximately 1 1/2 miles long, built in 1995. Prior to the bridge, ferries were used as primary means of transportation. Honfleur is... More
It is a spectacular architectural bridge and the panoramic seen is magnificent. The whole bay is spread in front of you. On a clear day you can see miles away.
incredible structure, always quite amazing, panoramic views across normandy magnificient feit of engineering,
The bridge over the Seine River connects Honfleur to the port of Le Havre. Make a small boat cruise that traverses much of the river and passes under the bridge of Normandy
Crossing the bridge both nordbound or soundbound will cost you about 5 euro. The view from the bridge is not so spectacular, but viewed from Honfleur, one can see the size of the bridge. A nice piece of engineering, but not exceptional.... there are many bridges like this.
We travelled into Honfleur over this marvellous feat of engineering, we were lucky not to have to queue and went straight over. The price for the experience is reasonable and the view superb. We couldn't believe how the incline slowed the lorries and the speed limit was faster than expected, although we just savoured the trip. We can just see... More
Having read some previous reviews I was slightly worried that the delay at the toll booth would cancel out the shortening of our journey. Fortunately, there was no delay in either direction (on consecutive Saturdays). From the direction of Le Havre, you first pass over the Le Havre Canal bridge, a wonderful curving sweep described by my daughter as resembling... More
