It is well-decorative dom, looks like a French or Spain Dom rather than a German Dom. You can see the passion of Aachen citizen.
Really enjoyed this experience, it is a magical space. Well worth popping in to see you can spend as long as you like viewing the beautiful surroundings.
The gold mosaics and the treasures in the cathedral. The Dom museum and its display of relics is not to be missed.
The cathedral is nice and is surrounded by cafes, religious stores and shops. The history of the church is fantastic and there are gargoyles around the roof of the building.
The cathedral is like no other in northern Europe. It has a style reminiscent of the Greek influenced churches of Ravenna, Italy and is full of atmosphere. It is also very, very old having had its conception before 800 A.D. 'The Aachener Dom' must be Charlemagne's greatest memorial.
