First, the museum is free after 3pm on Sundays, but what they don't tell you is that you can't get the audio guide even if you want to pay for it. Had I known that, i would have gone on a different day. Another reviewer brought up the issue of not all displays have explanations in English. They also show...

If this is your first time visiting Barcelona you must spend some time in this historical square. Relax and Enjoy your stay!!!!
This museum is wonderful. The ruins are well preserved and the tour excellent. Well worth the visit.
The Roman archaeological remains are shown to their best advantage by elevated walkways and a very good audio guide system. Visitors can walk around a district of workshops and factories from the 2nd century AD and get an insight into the daily life of the city's inhabitants. Well worth a visit.
The bulk of this museum is the underground Roman ruins, one of the largest in Europe. I would highly recommend going if you enjoy Roman history.

A lot of the displays did NOT have english translations - a real pity Free after 3pm on Sundays Interesting view of the history of barcelona
There are extensive underground excavations which are interesting for those interested in archeology and exhibits of artifacts from subsequent periods in Barcelona's history. Well presented for those interested in history. Ticket includes entry into very well-preserved 14th century reception room and chapel in the old royal residence.
