My wife and I dropped in here almost by accident, and are so glad we did. We're both fans of house museums, and this is an exceptionally fine one. Beautiful rooms, all with their original furnishings and collections, and what collections! Devotees of period finery will be thrilled.

This tops my list of must see places in Madrid. It is the former home of a wealthy gentleman who was part of the Spanish court. It shows what it really was to have lived in those times and is probably more realistic than the opulent Palacio Real in terms of how rich people lived. The house is designed so... More

The house of Enrique de Aguilera y Gamboa, XVII marqués de Cerralbo contains the fully preserved interior. Quite good collection of paintings. Very interesting as a real ambience of marques' life.

the fashion shows of dresses is so boring there are some artefacts that are great but I would say that they are that interesting, shows how this rich aristocrat lived there life before. not bad for the admittance fee and the great thing is you are near the other parks, I spend about 20 mins there and wanted to go... This museum is one of my favorites and I like to visit it every time I visit Madrid. The house is full of art and the furnishings are great. I love the chandeliers from Venice, very original and beautiful. Everything here is beautiful. Also the people working in the museum are very friendly and you can ask them questions and... More

Cerrablo Museum is a lesser know tourist attraction in the center of Madrid. It's construction began in1883 for the Marqués de Cerralbo. The design is unique, ornate, colorful and a work of art in itself. You'll walk through the various rooms of the mansion, most of which had a very specific function...dining room, ballroom, sitting room, etc. To say that... More

This is a wonderful place to have a look at how a privledged member of society once lived. This mansion-museum is a quaint and delightful experience. Not only is it close to the Debod temple and a stone's-throw from Plaza España, but it's a great refuge from the hoards of tourists at the larger museums. Here you see the actual... More

My third trip to Madrid. How did I miss this earlier! Highlight of the trip as we have seen the Prado and Palace before. This is better than the Palace in my opinion! They control entry so plan your trip and my advice is to go early AM.

We went to the Cerralbo Museum on a Sunday during free hours. They allow 60 people in the museum at any one time. There were 9 people in line waiting to get in when we arrived and it took about 10 minutes for us to be admitted. The locals are used to this. The Cerralbo is a creaky, old place... More
