We spent a day in the Cinque Terre, visiting 4 out of the 5 villages (not enough time!). Vernazza and Manarola were our favorites. Vernazza for its view and Manarola for the small-town feel. Bring your good walking shoes and take the time to walk from one village to another, through the vineyards. This National Park is a must-see, but... More

We are just finishing up our trip here and greatly enjoyed it. There are tons of hiking paths here. The region had a lot of rain in march and a few mudslides damaged portions of trail number 2 which is the most direct coastal path between the towns. That said, the path between Vernazza and monterroso al mar (2 hours... More

This is truly a beautiful area. There are five villages you can walk to by foot or by boat. We didn't walk the trails as we only stayed here for 1 day and 1 night, but the boat right was fantastic. You can take as long as you like at each village you stop at and get back on the... More

Fantastic, beautiful place but no coastal paths open until at least September 2013 and no ferries the week we were there so a disappointing holiday.

Just a great place to hike to. You can also get there by train or boat. If you can, take two days for this 5 village hike.

One of the most beautiful places that I have ever visited. The hikes were awesome. Might have been our favorite place in Italy!

My boyfriend and I booked a hiking tour in Cinque Terre. It was a pretty good distance and sternuous hike. It's not an activity for everyone. Duing our hike, there were older people who were struggling the uneven trail and a guy who looked like he was about to have an asthma attack. Thank goodness he did not. You really... More

An hour or so train travel from La Spezia ( where you can find less expensive accommodation) to the last of the 5 villages :Monterosso (which is my favourite one). I just had one day to explore them all....you can walk from one village to another (and you will fill your mind and camera with a lot of breathtaking pictures....but,... More

Walking the trails is certainly not for the faint-hearted, unfit (these trails are killers), weak kneed (literally if you have weak knees), vertigo sufferers and/or fearful of heights. Unless you are relatively young and fit, or a seasoned hiker no matter your age, don't fool yourself - you will really suffer otherwise. But don't miss the opportunity to see and... More

We were in doubt of going but after a whole load of walking and getting to know the villages in between the trails we were ecstatic! It's a beautiful place, envolved by nature and the sea, creating a magical experience. The towns have character and you can swim in the clear sea water. It's really easy to get there by... More
