The Duomo is a huge cathedral with lovely stained glass windows. The statue of St Bartholomew with his skin hanging over his shoulder is rather stark. The doors are wonderful in their detail - and also pretty gruesome in places. The bookshop (made of thick glass) looks like a spaceship that has landed inside at the back of the church... More

I absolutely enjoyed my visit to the Duomo. We went in the evening so my time inside this magnificent cathedral was limited. (It closed at 7.) Allow yourself plenty of time to light a few candles and study the stained glass windows and architecture. I would suggest finding a table at a cafe for any in your party not interested... More

I lived a year in Milan and yet every time i pass by this magnificent monument, I have to pause for a minute to watch this beautiful Architectural miracle. it's as if they've carved a huge stone into this fine building. Seeing it is also a kind of surprise when you come out of the Metro :)

Absolutely amazing. Right in the heart of Milan. Took my breath away! The stained glass is beyond description. Entry to the Cathedral is free. If you wish to take photos it costs 2 euro (all of which goes to upkeep of the cathedral) A must see for anyone travelling to Milan!!

It is well worth going up to the top of the Cathedral, you get amazing views of Milan. The stairs cost 7E, the lift costs 12E, and you get to the entrance to the left hand side of the building as you look at the Cathedral from the front. There are 150 stairs, and it was not really that taxing... More

Be sure to take the tour to the top of the cathedral, where you get to see some very interesting sights.

I can't say that the religious aspect was of interest to us, but well worth the climb to the roof for the amazing views of milan and to see the amazing craftsmanship of the building. Take the steps if you can. It's cheaper and not too bad a climb at all.

The Piazza floods when it rains, as well as many streets around, you can get stuck away from your hotel. The plastic covers they sell when the rain comes are a ripoff. Still, beautiful, go early in the morning, no crowds until about 11 or so, then it's crazy.

Loved it up on the roof of this stunning Duomo, overlooking the square and lovely shopping centre. This section of the city centre is stunning.

Its a really beautiful cathedral. Go to the roof if you can. Audio guide certainly helps. The main feature I loved was the Statue of St. Bartholomeow which is such a wonder of a creation
