They do have some hyper modern trams also in Milano, but the old ones!!!!!!!They are similar to the antique ones in Lisboa, and one wonders, when they will have to go. Squeeking and rattling thru the streets, they provide a still efficient means of transport to many parts of the city. How long will they last? The historic busses in... More

Not a tourist attraction at all, really, but several of the tram lines are still using the old 1920s wooden teams. They're most obvious on line 1, which goes through the heart of the historic town, but other lines use then, including #5 and #33. They made getting from our hotel to the centre a pleasure rather than a challenge,... More

nice way to travel around - stops have clear information and locals using it as well. We used number 1 and 19 which ran outside our hotel to the historic centre of the city.

I do not know if this is an 'attraction' or not... There are older trams and team /cable cars around the world. However it is good for next generations that Milanese are keeping those trams in good shape and in operation. They will be classic in some decades...

We used metro, tram and busses extensively during our visit to Milan. It is easy and cheap: €4,50 for 24hours or €8,25 for 48 hours from the time you validate the ticket. We downloaded the map of all lines from the atm website and had it as a pdf on our smart phone. It comes in a very high resolution... More

Every city should have a tram system, punctual, regular & so cheap, a pat on the back for making it so easy to get around

Milan's street railway service dates back to 1876. Since then, its yellow or green streetcars have been a very familiar sight all over the city, clanking their way through heavily congested roads and largely unaffected by vehicular traffic. Series 1500 streetcars date back to the 1920s and were modeled after the US-built Peter Witt cars (some of these Milan veterans... More

The tram is the way most Milanesi move around town because of the extensive tracks reaching most nooks and crannies. The tourist tram allows you to see the city in an easy way. There is also the possibility of hiring a tram for a group in the evening where dinner is served whilst seeing Milan by Night!
