A great masterpiece of early Italian Renaissance painting - cycle of frescoes by Giotto that served as inspiration for generations of later artists. Tickets need to be booked in advance, and admission schedule is very strict, so plan your visit beforehand. And don't miss Eremitani Church next door, with remains of frescoes by Andrea Mantegna.

It takes a bit of an effort to be allowed to visit the chapel: one must make reervations, and then adhere to the timetable of availability, as only a limited number of visitors are allowed in at a time, and even then, only after 15 minutes in a pressurized room. But the chapel, a little jewel of medieval fresco art,... More

Giotto's frescoes were very well restored. There is a surprisingly short wait time to see the chapel. The frescoes quite likely inspired themes of Michelangelo's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.

If you are in Padua, get a reservation to see this chapel. It was entirely, top to bottom, done by Giotto, and the story behind why it was built is fantastic. Read Dante's "Inferno" before you go...

I recommend visiting the multi-media room in the Musei Civici Eremitani before and after your visit to the chapel to virtually zoom in and out of the frescoes and chapel details. Limited to 25 people for 25 minutes, there's so much to take in, the Cappella Scrovegni viewing is over far too soon.

Irrespective of your religious beliefs, this chapel has the woderful craftsmanship/artistry of Giotto all around. The skill level at that time was profound and although you have to buy a ticket for the museum to get to the chapel,it's worth a visit

The Scrovegni Chapel is a beautifully preserved small chapel housing a wonderful cycle of frescoes by Giotto. The cycle, completed in 1305 is considered to be one of the most important presentations of early Renaissance painting by Giotto. The film with English subtitles preceding the viewing of the chapel gives the history of both the chapel and the painter quite... More

Very cool attraction - you go in 25 people at a time, and spend 15 minutes getting to the right temperature and humidity before you enter the chapel itself. During that time, you view an excellent movie describing the history and artistic importance of the chapel. Even if you are not very much into art, you will enjoy this.

This is a beautiful chapel and worth a trip. The tour is given in Italian so I missed a lot but it is so amazing that it is still worth a trip. You have to leave your purse at the desk which is always a little scary.

The Scrovegni Chapel is located on the grounds of park, with a hard to find entrance. However, once you do, enjoy every minute. We took advantage of the "double turn" a back to back ticket that allows you to be in the chapel for 40 minutes total rather than 15 for the single ticket. Worth every cent since the chapel... More
