This church is located across the lagoon from St. Mark's Basilica. We took a vaporetto over to the island. The church has nice art work, but the real draw is the bell tower. For 4 Euros you can take an elevator to the top. The views of Venice and surroundings were spectacular. We then rode the vaporetto around the back... More

A quick vaporetto ride from San Marco (once you locate the right vaporetto!), San Giorgio is well worth a visit. It's comparatively quiet, after the hustle and bustle around San Marco, with a lovely church, pretty harbour, and fantastic views from the campanile - and you don't have to wait in long queues to go up there. There's an elevator,... More

This beautiful church, so familiar in the views from St.Mark's Square, is worth a special visit in its own right. A five-minute vaporetto trip across the lagoon from St.Mark's takes you there and rewards you not just with great views back to the city but also with a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle. The church itself is... More

Is has great views of Venice and St marks square from both in front of the church and at the top of the campanile. The church itself is amazing and really lovely to look around, they even had some people practicing their music and choir. All in all really easy to nip across on the boat to enjoy the great... More

The view from the tower is excellent, but ?5 to get up there is a bit steep. Recommended getaway from the streets, but not much else to do here. I would also have appreciated if it was possible to walk the stairs (not for a discount or anything, but the walk).

This you can't miss going to just to see the view from the Bell Tower - entrance is through the church but be careful not to go during Mass as they close the tower. Great views.

Jump on the Vaporetto to San Giorgio and take the elevator to the top of the tower. The view is breathtaking and allos for some nice photographs of the San Marco area of Venice. Sometimes there are long queues

Took a water taxi from No 2 gate at San Zaccaria stop near St Marks Square. Tintoretto paintings in church are breath taking. Do take the lift to clock tower for view back across the canal to St Marks square. 6 euro for the pleasure, small lift ( takes 6 ), but great view.
