Great place to stop for a beer & a snack. Very busy with bars/restaurants and the market stalls. Very close to the Tower.
Take out the junk being sold ad infinitum by moving it all to a side street-preferably far away and this would be quite the place Too much of that for me to take it seriously
Full of people, stalls selling anything and everthing and plenty of cafes. One of the two old city piazzas in Verona and cannot be avoided unless you stay in your hotel room for your entire visit. Fun to sit with a coffee and watch the wandering masses. Where are they from? Can you tell just by looking? Why do some... More
Very much smaller than Piazza Bra, the Piazza delle Erbe at times seems to have more vitality to it than its larger neighbour. Don't get me wrong, Piazza Bra is a wonderful square. A piazza full of character, just at the end of via Giuseppe Manzzini, the main shopping street.Beautiful architecture surrounds the piazza, which is full of colourful stalls, many which are opera themed .
Every time I walk into the Piazza it strikes me with its beauty and simplicity. It is full of character the buildings are fantastic to look at some with frescoes all this is overlooked by a beautiful bell tower, which you can go up, part by lift and by stairs. The view from the top is also worth the effort.... More
A beautiful square with a stunning tower, 273 feet high, that watches over it . As the focal point of Verona's night life, this is where you come to see and be seen, eat, drink and enjoy the company of others and not a drunk in sight at any time. The Italians make us look like barbarians who think that... More
One of the highlights of the visit in that we happened upon it rather than planned to visit it. We came twice, once during the da when it was busy with the inevitable tat-stalls, then later in the evening when we ate at one of the piazza-side restaurants. (which, incidentally, was excellent) Really lovely to just sit and eat and... More
In the middle of the Piazza there is a market selling everything and in a circle surrounding the market there are cafses and restaurants full of laughter, voices challenging one another, toasts and clinking wine glssses, the aroma of a wonderful Italian kitchen and the late afternoon apertif spirint of people coming together to enjoy life. It is also here... More
