A very nice and impressive arena. I do agree with others that it is not necessary to go inside, yet simply walk around the outside and enjoy. Overall I would reccommend going to look at the arena but would reccommend going inside other sites before going inside the arena.

No concerts or operas in early June. Paid 12 euros for my wife and I to enter and stayed 5-10 minutes then left. Enjoy the free view from the outside, it is much better.

This was an amazing experience! We didn't see an opera (which I have now placed on my bucket list) but took some time to relax inside the Arena while they were taking down the stage for Romeo and Juliet. Great setting on central square, park car in cittadelli car park. Smaller than coliseum , but better preserved. Played some Opera for sound check as we got in, wife has agreed now to see an opera her with me.

The Arena represents the gem of the beautiful Verona's historical centre. Personally, I find it much more appealing and better conserved than Arles' or Nimes' ones. You will love it, especially in the summer, with concerts and a lively nightlife. :)
