I can appreciate that a visit to the arena during the day might be disappointing. It is very much a music venue and those plastic and metal seats dominate the scene! On the other hand, this was my first Roman amphitheater and I was impressed at the sheer size and scale of it. We went to performance of Verdi's 'Nabucco'... More

This is what enjoying life is about, you feel like being in the centre of the world! Choose parking Arsenale, bit cheaper and just as good as the others in the centre.

The Arena di Verona is a very impressive roman amphitheatres. We saw a tribute to a 100 years of opera hosting Andrea Bocelli and Placido Domingo. This event was recorded for the Italian television. This is the replay RAI1 TV: http://www.rai.tv/dl/replaytv/replaytv.html?day=2013-06-10&ch=1&v=226553&vd=2013-06-10&vc=1#day=2013-06-10&ch=1&v=226553&vd=2013-06-10&vc=1 Amazing show. The Arena itself is very well conserved and seeing a spectacle there is a great way to... More

I have booked 2 tickets to the Opera of Verona for the 14th of June 2013 for my husband and me. Unfortunately I had to cancel them a few days ago because the tragic passing away of my husband. I sent a cancellation request to the Arena Opera Foundation but they refused to make a refund. I quote their answer:... More

A very nice and impressive arena. I do agree with others that it is not necessary to go inside, yet simply walk around the outside and enjoy. Overall I would reccommend going to look at the arena but would reccommend going inside other sites before going inside the arena.

No concerts or operas in early June. Paid 12 euros for my wife and I to enter and stayed 5-10 minutes then left. Enjoy the free view from the outside, it is much better.

This was an amazing experience! We didn't see an opera (which I have now placed on my bucket list) but took some time to relax inside the Arena while they were taking down the stage for Romeo and Juliet. Beautifully preserved and a great place to cool down in the late summer afternoon. A must see. Just be aware that... More

Great setting on central square, park car in cittadelli car park. Smaller than coliseum , but better preserved. Played some Opera for sound check as we got in, wife has agreed now to see an opera her with me.

The Arena represents the gem of the beautiful Verona's historical centre. Personally, I find it much more appealing and better conserved than Arles' or Nimes' ones. You will love it, especially in the summer, with concerts and a lively nightlife. :)

My wife and I booked a concert at the Arena for our anniversary. It’s an amazing venue and the concert (Bocelli, Domingo and Carreras) was spectacular. But sadly the customer service / crowd management was woeful. We bought the cheapest, un-numbered seats, and were told gates would open at 1930 for a 2030 start. So we got in line at... More
