5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2013 NEW

We visited the Boboli Gardens in May and were totally amazed at sheer size of what amounts to being the back yard for the Medici family. As with everything from that era big. Long sweeping driveways, big statues, big fountain and pond and all this behind a huge family home (Pitti Palace). Find the right place in this emense collection... More

Be ready to hike up and down the hill, but this is a lovely garden, well tended, with interesting sculpture here and there and some ponds. We got rained on, but I think it would be a great place on a day with fine weather.

Beautiful place to visit on a sunny day. Loved the views at the top, and it was big enough to wander around. I enjoyed the classical sculptures - it was nice to be able to identify the myths. Don't expect absolutely perfectly manicured gardens and lots of flowers - it's a little overgrown in places but that's part of the... More

Its a big place and you pay just 6 euros to go in. There are some nice views from the top of the gardens overlooking the city but that's about it. I went in May and really I expected some spring flowers or evidence of something flower ish but no....nothing. Plenty of green which looked in places a bit under... More

It is ten euros entry, so the 5 star rating I have given will instantly drop on a cloudy, cold or rainy day. But if it is a nice day, you can go there and sit on a bench or lie in the grass in the shade of a tree. It is a perfect way to rest your legs after... More

Across the Arno river from the town center. Nice and relaxing to walk. Tranquility and silence away from the crowds.

... they are nice, but nothing special in my opinion. It's also not the easiest walk. The best thing is the view of the city you get from there.

We only managed to spend an hour or so here on our last day, but the gardens were delightful. The view from the Porcellane House (I think that is how it's spelt?) across Florence came as a pretty surprise. We would have liked to have spent the afternoon here, if time had allowed. An enchanting end to our holiday.

10 euros per person includes gardens, porecelein museum and costume gallery. The gardens are great full of statues ans foutains. The porecelein is really nothing but the costume gallery is nice because its inside the pitti palace. Lets you skip the line for the palace and still see some of it.

We had a walking tour guide in Florence one day recommend Boboli Gardens as a great outing and we were very glad we went. It is located behind the Piazza Pitti and when we went, it was difficult to find the entrance. You purchase a ticket to the museum, gardens or both. We only wanted to tour the gardens that... More
