The best views of Florence and the River Arno. Definitely go before sunset, take a bottle of wine, sit on the steps and relax as the sun sets. Fabulous photos from this location!
Terrific views across central Florence from a wide, open area. There is a rose garden part way up that also affords views but the extra climb to the Piazzale does not take long and is rewarding.

Not suitable for older or unfit people ( those should take a cab or drive up there ) but well worth climbing up if you can as the view will be a reward by itself. sit on the stairs like everybody and admire. Just beaufiful.

One of the highlights of Florence, the view is a postcard of the whole city and great photo spot, great shots with Duomo and Pont Vechhio, river in the back ground would not miss
On a beautiful sunny day my wife and I walked from near the rail station around quite a few back streets to avoid the the crowds and finally crossed the Arno river to for a nice stroll up the hill to this great viewing area. Once again full of tourists and stalls selling souvenirs. But thank heaven for the stall...

Worth the climb for the breath taking views and opportunity to take photos across Florence. If you're struggling with the steps stop half way and sit in the garden on the left to enjoy the sights from there before going for the climb.
