On our return to San Gimingano after a fantastic family holiday in 2012 we were keen to see the model and display again. Sadly we found that it has been scaled down. The model itself is now in the courtyard of the giftshop/workshop and only a few of the accompanying models of everyday life in the middle ages and informative... More

Whilst the city miniature of San Gimignano in the 1300s is very impressive, we would definitely recommend the treasure hunt as a fun way to walk the significant parts of the town and learn a little bit about local history at the same time. It takes you through the 4 contrades of the town and points out the remaining towers,... More

Came to see the museum but sadly it is closed until spring. It looked interesting though and the town is beautiful.

This little museum is amazing. You will find rest from all the walking and pleasure for your eyes and soul. The city miniature is a gem but I was really surprised by a projection on the wall. This projection tells the history and helps you to understand history better. A fun way to tell history. I loved it. After you... More

This was simply amazing, and FREE?!! yet it is hidden away from the public on a back street side entrance??? The town should wake up and move this attraction to the main street San Giovanni, and give due credit to this attraction. I would happily have paid 5 euros for a tour of this attraction in a much larger facility... More

Great, miniature (100:1 scale) recreation of the city as it was during medieval times. There is also a nice gallery with ceramic items that are reasonably priced. One of the artists is named Michelangelo. Really. Very nice guy.

Upon arriving to San Gimignano, I accidentally came across a notice about viewing the ''mini version'' of San Gimignano. After a couple of hours, we stopped to check it out. A wonderful surprise finding out that there was no entrance fee. As already described by other viewers, the light and sound effects did bring life into the whole model. It... More
