I loved Tram 28 - I rode it from beginning to end 5 times. It gives you the feel for the city - hustle and bustle - passes all the landmarks - totally convenient and inexpensive. Get a day card. Sure tourists use it a lot during the day - so I went in the evening or at night. There's... More

For many tourists, riding Tram 28 is a thing to do like see the Castle and the Cathedral. For us, it was our main means of transportation, since we stayed in an apartment in Alfama on Rua Escolas Gerais, with a tram stop just down the block. We took it to the downtown and back again, stopping at all the... More

Tram route No. 28 is deservedly a Lisbon icon. Its diminutive single-truck streetcars (locally known as eléctricos) are each rated for a maximum of 58 passengers, 38 seated and 20 standing, but when they were designed (in the early 1900s) people were smaller -- and they did not carry backpacks. You'll find them incredibly packed and uncomfortable, but the noisy,... More

It's a traditional tram trip. We took it from the south end of Rosso square. Tickets from the shop just on the right of the square/track. Up the steep hills of Lisbon to a good view point above of the river. It was very crowded and a bit noisy , but the experience is ok. The trip takes you through... More

this little tram takes you everywhere but it is very crowded at all times of the day. It can also be stuck behind improperly parked cars and may require long waits. It is worth it because it goes to all the nice places of Lisbon. A day pass is the best way to go since you can go on and... More

A must to do in Lisbon. See main tourists attractions. Meet local people who also use this train. Enjoy narrow streets of Alfama.

Tram 28 is a great way to visit Lisbon, especially if you want to spend a few hours relaxing on a cloudy day. However, the ride does not seem to pass in front of Lisbon`s main attractions, and if it did we had no way of knowing as no explanations or maps were offered throughout the tour. Keep in mind... It's a great way to see old town Lisbon. I remeber the old trollys in Atlanti City , its a blast from the past. It's not the S.F. cable cars but its a great option to a tour or taxi ride, just not that big
