Cascais is easy to travel to by train from Lisbon and well worth a visit. The fort overlooking the harbour and now converted into an hotel is an amazing piece of architecture.
We drove there from Sintra and had a wonderful time walking around the waterfront, eating lunch, strolling with ice cream!
This is a place I would like to go back to and spend some time. The beaches were beautiful with many restaurants along the boardwalk. So many streets to explore.
We spent there whole day and enjoyed even that most of the Cascais seaside is rocky so it's impossible to swim in the sea.Whoever is going to spend a day there I'd advise to rent a bike or motorbike so you could admire wider stoning coastline.
Great history with shopping and beaches, you can watch the fisherman go out in the morning and sunbathe all day.
It's a perfect place for getting away from Lisbon, enjoying the sun and sea. I really loved just sitting my the sea cliff and just watching sailboats pass. Watched locals fishing. We ate lunch at a very pretty place in the center of town. Good for people watching.
Beautiful city. Very cosy and posh. Nice view of atlantic ocean. Great restaurants. Good marina. Not congested with traffic. Beautiful houses with nice hotels. Great golf courses. Also a shopping center at cascais. Worth a visit.
When the tide is in, the wave crash over the boardwalk. We took the train from Lisbon and walked back two stations with fine restaurants.
A must see when in Portugal. It is a sea side little city about three block center radius. Cute with a Lighthouse in the sea rocks that is beautiful. Very touristy but really nice and cute. I enjoued very much our visit, which we did in a public transport bus for 3 euros each. Don't fall for the touristy pricey...
