Took the family there so I could experience the beer. Found a table fairly easily. Lots of locals took their massive bring your own meals seriously and looked like they were having a great time. Our kids were kind of spent and they weren't interested in the food even though there was a wide range of everything from Schnitzel to... More

An unforgettable experience .The beer made by Monks. the :Lonely Planet guide guided me to this amazing place. We were on a short trip to Salzburg in 2003. The subtle ambience and the one litre and 1/2 litre Beer Mugs were so great.

I visited the place after having read about it here in on other web pages, and I did not regret it. The beer is great and the place has a special atmosphere. Try the potato wedges - it just goes well with the beer. I wish there was such a beer-hall in Hungary!...

After living for fourth months in Salzburg, I can safely say Augustiner is a great snapshot of Austrian culture. In the summer months, the beer garden outside is absolutely gorgeous. The one thing I would mention is that you ARE allowed to bring your own food. Sometimes, the food in the stalls is a bit pricey. But hey, that may... More

The Augustiner Braustubl is a must place to go if you like the idea of drinking beer in a large beer hall, brewed by Monks in their Monastery for the last several hundred years. My wife and I visited around Christmas but have been there many times in the past. I have seen some reviews that complain that they serve... More

My first visit to Salzburg a little over a year ago began here at the Augustiner Braustubl. After a long day of travel, it was just what my friend and I needed. We tried a bunch of different foods from the different stalls, filled our steins with delicious monk nrewed beer, and sat under the Chestnut Trees on a crisp... More

A great Austrian Beer Hall. Unlike the famous ones in Munich that tend to be just full of tourists this beer hall is mainly full of locals and had a traditional feel to it. My Municher friends were impressed with this place. Only one beer is served brewed following the monks tradition. It is served in 1/2 litre or one... More

Just a short walk up Mullin Strasse from the old town and you are at Augustiner Brau, who have brewed their own beer since the 1600's. Once you walk in and figure out the layout (in winter, its seating within massive beer halls, some are smoking so look out for the symbol by the doors), you grab yourself a stein... More

I have fortunate to attend Oktoberfest twice and have also been to many of the biergartens in Munich, many of them more than once. The Augustiner Braustubl in Salzburg is only slightly like the beirgartens in Munich. Slightly. My first complaint is that there is no choice of Augustiner beer - they only serve one kind and it's not the... More

This is a true Bier Garden maybe your not in Munich but this is a stone's throw to Bavaria and with out a doubt the best I've seen. The Helles type beer is awesome and it flows constantly and well priced at the right temp. Many choices of food and entertainment at times. Outside sit a midst the many Chestnut... More
