I attended training at this venue and loved it - nice to go somewhere different. The facilities and food were excellent. amazing how the 'shell' echoes
Only open on special days, so a rare opportunity to drop in and have a look round. It is in very good condition, and the exhibition gave a glimpse of how things used to be on the Ipswich docks. Well worth visitng.
Not normally open, I don't think, but it was during the Maritime Festival. I must confess a family interest. My forebears were the Customs Officers who were expected to catch the Smugglers and deal with them. Ironically, their forebears were the Smugglers, trying to evade capture. (something about Poachers and Gamekeepers, I guess)
Im not sure if this building is normally open to the public, however it was on the weekend of 11th & 12th Sept 2010 as it was included in an open buildings around Ipswich day.
