I've known these Falls on the River Braan since a child - from holidays with my Perthshire-born father. They NEVER fail to impress. On the 16th April, they were magnificent!! You can make a short visit to them & return to ‘The Hermitage’ car park or you can walk on much further - for as long as you like -... More

Every time I visit I return refreshed and calm. The views are amazing and it is my top place to visit in the area.

Walked up to here following the Inver path from Birnam. The little hall looks nothing from the outside (a round stone hut) but going and and through the glass doors onto the balcony overlooking the Braan falls was a very pleasant surprise! Well worth the visit.

Ossian's Hall is part of the landscaped woodland known as The Hermitage. from The hermitage car park, there's a 1/4 mile walk to to the hall through semi-wild woodland. When you leave the car park, take the smaller, lower bridge under the railway to follow the river to the hall (the other bridge also takes you tot he hall but... More

The children were very impressed with the cave! It is a short walk from the waterfalls and well worth a visit - especially for over imaginative children.

Every visit is different as the falls will be in full flow.a trickle or somewhere in between. Good place to take dogs. I have been here many times and never pass by if there is an opportunity to stop.

Nice waterfalls and the hall gives you a superb view on the falls. Have a look at the Gaelic poem with English translation

The view from the railinged viewing gallery is of a violent waterfall and raging river (at this time of year especially). Early October/ November has spectacular autumn colour around the Heritage.

Was recommended by our host. A beautiful walk, but be dressed appropriately and plan a couple of hours.

Quaint and unusual folly located in the hermitage woodland. Ideal for watching the leaping salmon or simply to watch the impressive roaring waterfall directly in front of you. The woods are home to some of the biggest trees in Britain and the walks cater for all abilities.
