Well worth a visit if you are interested in history. New reception unit still being built when we went. The tidal mill was fascinating, our ancestors certainly weren't dumb. More to see than first impressions.

Not the most extensive castle I've visited in Wales, but still worthwhile. You entrance fee also covers the mill which is also quite good.

Then this is one to visit. Carew is located on the bank of a large tidal mill pond that compliments the castle perfectly. A foot path surrounds the castle and lake, making it the perfect location for an early morning or summers evening stroll. just beautiful, and a pub is just across the road - marvelous!

My child and i enjoyed it spend over 4 hours there - helped along with doing a treasure hunt where we went around the castle lots and tidal mill and to park area and to the carew cross - we really enjoyed it
