This museum is always good for at least a half day or longer, ideal for children. The current exhibition is Treasures of Afghanistan, and the price of the ticket to that particular exhibition also gives you free entry to the rest of this very large museum. Treasures of Afghanistan is an absolute must - it's a fascinating insight into this... More

We love to visit the museum to see their main attractions and they never disappoint. You are taken to a different place and time.

There's always something worth seeing - the permanent exhibition is first rate and there are often seriously good temporary exhibitions, check the website ... http://museumvictoria.com.au/

Different; was an interesting visit when you have nothing better to do or on your day off work or when you are looking for somewhere to go when your family visits.

This museum is about as good as they get: lots of interactive displays, lots of accessible information. It only has a few galleries but they have picked the topics people like most (bodies, bugs, animals, evolution, Melbourne etc.).

A fantastic museum with well curated beautifully presented exhibits. Good for kids from 4 up although there is a little area for smaller ones. Set in the lovely Carlton gardens, worth a trip in themselves.

I fully understand that there is a limited budget but that is a problem which all museums, galleries, etc face. This does not compare to anything in D.C.,Boston or Europe but for visitors to Australia particularly Victoria it gives an insight into our history. The art and artifacts are genuine, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable and the last time I was... More

this was a nice informative visit in Melbourne. Amazed by it's history and architecture. I did take an architectural tour while in Melbourne and this was one of the highlights.
